I left my home when I was quite young,
Following dreams a looking for fun.
Headed out west to join a band,
Wound up in Lubbock my guitar in hand.

I’m chasing the sun in search of a rhyme
No place to call home and I ain't got a dime

Up to New York, Old Sugar Hill,
Driving Mules in a backwoods sawmill.
Winter set in and south I did flee,
Down to Atlanta my guitar and me.
